AAAHC Certification Program, Total Joint and Spine Panel Discussion, and Increased Medicare Volume

Beth Russell
Knoxville Orthopaedic Surgery Center
Surgery has been my love for over 20 years. I started as a surgical tech and then after four years went to nursing school. As a nurse, my first job was an RN first assistant in Orthopaedic Surgery. I was lucky enough to get to work with an amazing group of orthopaedic surgeons. I went on to pursue my masters degree in nursing which gave me the opportunity to work as the operating room director at the same hospital I had worked as an RNFA. A few years later, the opportunity presented itself for me to accept the position as Executive Director at Knoxville Orthopaedic Surgery Center, working for the same surgeons I had worked with as an RNFA for years. It was the perfect fit and perfect job for me. KOSC is a 9 room orthopaedic surgery center. I tell people we are truly our own small hospital.
